Adidas Websites Taken Offline Following Sophisticated, Criminal Cyber-Attack

AdidasMultiple websites belonging to German sportswear and equipment maker, Adidas were taken offline following a sophisticated, criminal cyber-attack.

The affected websites include adidas.com, rebook.com, micoach.com, adidas-group.com and various local eCommerce shop websites.

So far there has been no evidence that any consumer data was stolen, but the Adidas Group has been conducting a “thorough forensic review” since the attack occurred on November 3rd just to be sure.

As of this writing, it appears that rebook.com and adidas-group.com have both been restored, but adidas.com and micoach.com remain offline. The message displayed on adidas.com cites ‘technical difficulties’ being the reason it’s unavailable:

While micoach.com indulges more information about the true cause behind its closure, including a timeframe on when the site should be back up and running:

Hopefully no customer data has been compromised due to the cyber-attack, but if you've recently made a purchase or hold an account on any of Adidas' websites, you may want to change any passwords shared between Adidas website accounts and other websites you frequent and closely monitor billing statements for credit cards used to purchase goods from Adidas sites.
