While this website appears relatively innocent in nature, what some of you may not realize is that this website is actually registered to the SAME PERSON who owned the domains that were recently involved in a Justin Bieber Twitter scam.That scam tricked users into handing their cellphone numbers with an “IQ Challenge” quiz in order to get a special password that would reveal the secret to getting Justin Bieber to follow you.
Instead of getting that password – or the “secret” (which I suspect there isn’t one) – users found themselves signed up for a mobile content subscription that charged anywhere from $10-20/month!
That scam used the urls justiner[dot]info and sobieber[dot]info. WHOIS domain lookups reveal that the domains are registered to James Lucero, who also owns free-iphone4s[dot]com.
So what’s the deal with the new website?
Well, simply visiting this website is earning this scammer money.
As you can see, the website is decorated with multiple advertisement banners. Those banners pay on a CPM level – meaning that the website owner is paid per thousand impressions.
More visitors = more impressions. Get where I’m going with this?
Furthermore, nothing helpful is even offered in terms of how to get Justin Bieber to follow you on Twitter. Here’s the content off the website:
